Hey friends I hope all of you are experiencing wonderful fall weather like everyone here in London It’s a beautiful fall evening! I just got home from campus and the sidewalks and streets are flooded with university students walking, jogging, and biking in every direction! I love the liveliness of London It always gets me smiling
Tuesdays are wonderful days for me. How could I not love not starting class until 2:30!? One class today, 2:30 – 5:30 That’s it, that’s all It’s been a beauty of a day and it all started with a back and biceps workout
|Seated Narrow Grip Cable Row||3||10|
I loved this workout and was so happy throughout the whole thing Maybe it was because of my new purchase?
The new SciVation XTEND BCAA’s I bought in Refreshing Watermelon flavour tasted absolutely amazing Definitely 5/5 stars! I sipped it throughout my workout.
The rest of my morning consisted of food prep for tomorrow and house cleaning such as sweeping, vacuuming, etc. Another productive morning by Meg
All productivity was lost when Ellen arrived… on TV
Why is she so darn funny?
I’m not blaming anyone other than myself, but if it wasn’t for Ellen I wouldn’t have been almost late for class. It was a close call. Oops.
For someone who never watches TV (such as myself) I sure have been enjoying the cable my parents had installed for me… Maybe that’s not such a good thing?
I literally ran up Brescia hill
and got to class at exactly 2:30; however, I did forget my lab coat in my vehicle So, back down the hill I went, grabbed my lab coat, and sprinted back up the hill…
As of now I have a rule: Leave home at least half an hour before class, so this does not happen ever again. Who likes being in a rush (or late) anyways? No I.
This is definitely not a regular occurrence in my life, so I am still quite upset with myself for getting so wrapped up in Ellen’s wittiness and not being totally prepared for class.
In today’s lab we learnt about measurements, accurate ways of measuring, different units of measure, temperatures, and calculating the cost of a homemade muffin recipe vs. store bought. After the lecture part of the lab, we baked chocolate chip muffins that resembled albino biscuits. There were approximately 10 ovens going throughout the three hour lab which heated up the classroom like a sauna. All of us had rosy cheeks once class was done. I was incredibly parched as well.
After class, I attended a meeting with the Brescia Alumnae Committee. We discussed homecoming and all of the events that Brescia is scheduling for the exciting weekend of September 30 – October 2 The ladies at the meeting were really excited about my float and the ideas I have for it, so that made me really happy and left me feeling more confident
During the meeting I enjoyed a beautiful roasted veg and chicken bowl that I was dying to take a picture of, but I thought it would be very inappropriate to do so during the meeting So no picture to share tonight! But, not only was my dinner beautiful, it was also delicious, so I think I will be having it again sometime soon A picture will be posted then!
Tonight I still have some readings and homework prep to do for tomorrow, so I better be on my way! Sorry for not giving you the “Tasty Tuesday” post as mentioned last week, but tomorrow will be something fun and exciting I received some pretty snazzy pictures of warm fuzzy socks… Be ready.
It’s not too late! Have a crazy looking pair of socks or slippers? Send me a picture of them @ firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you deal well when in a rush? I get so frazzled and can’t think straight. I hate being rushed!
Have you been watching any season premieres? What is your favourite TV show or series?
Hey hey Almost time to ring in a new week! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Sandra may have been Miss Congeniality (and a great one at that!), but I should have been dubbed Miss Productive for the day I was crossing things off of my to-do list like it was nobody’s business
Most of the things on my to-do list were homework/school things, but I was able to do some other errands today as well
Maybe my day was incredibly productive because I kick started it with this amazing breakfast? I think it’s the chia seeds… They keep me goin
Overnight Blueberry Chia Pudding with Oats
1/3 cup rolled oats
approximately 1/3 Greek yogurt
2 Tbsp almond milk
1/2 cup blueberries
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Combine all together, let sit overnight, and indulge in the morning! Add more almond milk if you want it more “liquidy”.
There is something about chia seeds that I love… I love having them before a workout I feel so fuelled And that’s exactly what I did today
But, something was different today…
That’s right I got myself a gym membership so I do not have to be waiting around for machines or worry about getting creeped on by people who can’t mind their own business My workout was amazing and I felt good about myself the entire time I was at the gym, just as it should be A good environment always help with the situation. I am so happy to have a gym to go to that I feel safe at
I did my shoulder workout out today, but with higher reps for a little bit of a change I also added in three ab exercises at the end of my workout. I love to add some ab exercises to finish things off
|Low Wood Chop||3||15 each side|
|Stability Ball Leg Tuck||3||15|
Those three ab moves are a few of my faves, so it was a great way to end off my favourite training day!
Not only was my workout a fab one, but my post workout meal is something to brag about too
Instead of bragging, how about I share the recipe?
Chocolate Protein Banana Bread
1 1/3 cup oat flour
1 cup mashed banana
1 container MOTTS unsweetened apple sauce
1 tsp. baking powder (I eyeballed this)
1/2 tsp. baking soda (I eyeballed this, too)
2 egg whites (1/4 cup)
3 Tbsp. water
3 scoops chocolate protein powder
Blend all together and bake at 350 for 30 mins. Two of the slices you see above make a good carb/protein source for your post workout snack
After my homework was complete, I was able to go downtown and do some of the errands on my to-do list…
I woke up to an empty foundation container today, so a trip to MAC was in order
Bonus: I had six empty containers, so I received an eye shadow free!
I have been doing some (more like a lot) reading about BCAA’s and decided once I was done with the brand I was currently using, I would try SciVation XTEND because it had great reviews and many people claim to have great results when using it. I went with the watermelon flavour because I love watermelon flavoured anything and the guy working said it was his favourite. I opened the container once I got home and it smells amazing I can’t wait to test it out on Tuesday during my next workout at my new gym!
I also went to the grocery store and got oodles of vegetables I am having a friend over for a dinner date Wednesday night and I am planning a Lettuce Wrap Fiesta!
My night ended with the first Brescia University Student Council (BUCSC) meeting of the year It was an hour and a half and we gave updates on what we did for student council over the summer, what we are planning now, and so on. My update was all about Homecoming. As the special events commissioner for BUCSC, I am in charge of planning the Brescia portion of Homecoming and Brescia’s annual Wine & Cheese night in January! Homecoming is the first weekend of October (September 30 – October 2), so I am going to be busy with council until then! This week I am planning on going shopping for decorations for the float
Have you ever been on student council? I have been on a student council ever since grade 8! It always feels great to be a part of something
Is Homecoming a huge and important event at your university? What events take place?
Tell me your favourite ab exercises!
