Love All Around
Hello lovelies
How’s everyone’s Sunday?
My Sunday has been pretty swell
I definitely can’t complain when it’s been jam packed with lovely things since the time I woke up
First off, I have to say that the weather here in London is unreal.
It’s nearing the end of October and we are having “BBQ on your deck” type of weather
Now isn’t that just the best weather ever? I think so. I also think that I should buy a fresh fillet of salmon to BBQ this week on my deck seeing as how it is that type of weather and all ![]()
In other good news, I am sure my Mom will be happy to know my flowers are still alive and looking extremely beautiful ![]()
I knew it was going to be a beautiful day even in the early hours of the morning
I was at the gym by 8:00; the weather was crisp, but the sun was out and there was not a cloud in the sky
It was a perfect morning.
I think my workout may have even added to the perfectness of it all
I don’t know where all of the love came from, but I love leg days now! I dreaded leg training in the past. Even this summer I did not look forward to it! But now, I actually look forward to my leg training on Sundays and Wednesdays!
I am quite fond of my new love for leg training
It may have something to do with the results I have been noticing?
Maybe ![]()
For my walking lunges today, I used a new method known as goblet walking lunges that I read about on Ben Bruno’s blog (you can also access the link and many more fitness related articles on my Learn page – I have been updating!).
The goblet walking lunges were so much easier for me since I find it difficult to get the barbell on and off my back multiple times. I definitely prefer this method and will be sticking to it
(Make sure you try this out Christina!) Another great thing about the goblet walking lunges is the core work involved!
After my workout I obviously had to test out my new flavour of About Time protein, Cinnamon Swirl
(Ok, so I actually “tested” it out last night, but I had it after my workout too!)
The review for this flavour is top notch, two thumbs up, and absolutely scrumptious
I could definitely taste the cinnamon flavour and loved it
Since I have so many cinnamon-loving readers, I highly suggest that you test this flavour out for yourselves
You will love.
Like I said, my day was full of love, so I hope you all got the hint that there was some lovely food involved throughout my day as well
I have two new recipes for you all to try out
Enjoy and let me know if you try one!
—————————————————————————————–
Pancakes are a great pre-workout meal right?
These ones are.
Fluffy Cottage Cheese Pancakes
adapted from Healthy Living’s Pumpkin Pancakes
1/2 cup egg whites
1/3 cup rolled oats
1 Tbsp cottage cheese
2 Tbsp pumpkin puree*
1 – 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
baking powder
baking soda
*The pumpkin taste is not detectible. If you wish, replace with any type of fruit puree or more cottage cheese.
Blend all ingredients together. cook in a non stick skillet over medium heat.
This recipe makes four very fluffy filling pancakes
The next recipe is for those who didn’t get enough avocado loving from my post a couple days ago ![]()
Please enjoy and relish in the creaminess of this meal
I certainly did.
Massaged Kale Avocado Salad
I began with a bowl of beautiful kale (washed of course!)
Next, spend some time with your beautiful kale. Massage every leaf using 1/2 of an avocado.
Don’t slack on the massaging process
No one likes a poorly done massage! Not even kale ![]()
Top with veg of your choice. I chose grape tomatoes and cucumbers!
If you wish, add some protein to the salad
Or add a lot like me ![]()
Maybe this recipe should have been for the shrimp lovers out there instead of avocado lovers?
Are you a shrimp lover? I think the picture explains it ![]()
Do you like getting massages? Love them
Do you like giving massages? For a short period of time… I get bored easily…
I hope you all had a lovely Sunday
Enjoy the rest of your evening! I’ll see you tomorrow with another recipe that I am dying to share ![]()
Love and hugs,
Meg
xoxo
Something you may not Know:
Parasthesia is the accurate term to use when experiencing a “pins and needles” sensation in your fingers, toes, limb, etc.
I learnt this while studying for my Dietary and Nutritional Assessment exam ![]()

Thank you for providing the information about the goblet method! I am going to be trying that out, as I feel very similar to you with the whole barbell thing! Goodness do those pancakes looks good, I appreciate you sharing that wonderful recipe
Glad you liked the cinnamon! Those pancakes look great. What’s the white stuff you topped them with? And I wish I could eat shrimp so bad, but I’m allergic
awwwwwww allergic
The white stuff
???????? I mixed some nut butta with greek yogurt
SHRIMP!!!! YESSSSSS
I demolished so many this weekend when I went home, I can’t get enough of the stuff!
Enjoy your Sunday evening buddy!
I’m also loving your nature pictures, the weather does look truly gorgeous
YAY we are both shrimp lovers
I’m loving this weather too! I don’t know if it’s going to last though.
Mmm those pancakes look so good! Definitely going to have to try those!
do it to it
I just got my first massage on Friday!! It was lovely, though I don’t think it actually solved the problem I was hoping it would solve…
I need to try that about time protein! You have been raving about it so I trust you – maybe I’ll get the sample packs? I bet the cinnamon swirl would taste awesome in pumpkin oatmeal!
It definitely would
I definitely think that you should go for the sample packs
I wish I could but they don’t ship to Canada
booooo
I actually started holding the dumbbell like that after I saw your post about it the other day!! I do some squats that way as well. Definitely easier on the back! I feel like I’m engaging more muscles that way too rather than just resting it on my shoulders.
I did some research on that protein and I found out that it’s available at all GNC stores. I think there is one by me so I’m going to go check it out! What other ways do you use your protein besides mixed with yogurt? Do you ever drink it straight up mixed with just water? I haven’t really been a fan of that method but maybe because I haven’t found a super delicious protein powder yet!
Wait just so I get this straight dumb question but are you studying at “real london” or London, Canada? Ive been confused on this and the word love is so great
I am allergic to shrimp too
Canada haha
Okay you were going to make me jealous isf it was London in the UK lol.
I think London, Canada is pretty sweet too…..
I always do goblet-style walking lunges. So much easier and nicer on the back too
I loooove getting massages. I go at least once a week. They’ve become much more painful in recent months, but I appreciate the feeling the next day
yay for goblet walking lunges
i loved them!!!!!
I think I better get an order in on Amazon for that protein powder after that amazing review!
HUGE shrimp lover here
Your picture made me laugh out loud haha you are awesome xo
hahahahahaha YAY I made someone laugh
I used to dread leg days as well and now I can’t wait to get back to it! Hopefully soon!
I am definitely going to be googling that protein powder because it sounds SO good!
Let me know if you order it
Well when you are home and we have our Thursday night pancake and movie date, you will have to make me those!!!
mmmmmmmmm
How beautiful is that!!!
I am so very proud of you and your plant!
Wish I was there enjoy the beautiful weather and those amazing looking meals!!!
Love you so much,
Mom
xoxoxo
I would love to have a Thursday night pancake night with you
I think I have only tried kale in chip form! That salad looks really good though. So do the pancakes!!
The weather looks good..hopefully it stays nice for a long time!
Thanks Emma
Yay for leg workouts! I used to hate them too, but lately I’ve been loving them! There’s nothing like waking up with a sore butt and sore thighs- it always makes me feel so accomplished. (:
That kale salad sounds phenomenal! And I love massages, of course. Giving them, on the other hand? Not quiiite as enjoyable. haha
I definitely felt it this morning
hahahaha
love goblet anything..! i do tons of goblet squats as well. bbq salmon…??? YES and pictures please!!!
you bet there will be pictures
Yuummm!!! Both recipes look deeelish
I have never had a massaged kale salad! I need to get on that
Looks like a gorgeous day I love perfect weather!
Those pancakes like amazing! Glad to have found your blog!
thanks for stopping by
Definitely trying those goblet lunges. I usually just hold a weight in each hand to do walking lunges, but goblet lunges look much easier. I love leg days! They are my favorite.
I think I would love getting a massage, but I haven’t had one before.
holding weights by my sides hurts my forearms!
Mmmmm pancakes
I will have to jot this recipe down and try them out
and that kale salad sounds amazing! I love shrimp so much, but seriously never have it!!
I’m a HUGE fan of kale! Your salad looks delish!!
Can you taste the cottage cheese in the pancakes? I am not a fan of cottage cheese, but I want to like it! What better way than to start sneaking it into some recipes!
you can’t taste it at all
and all it is is a TBSP!
Aww such a beautiful day you’ve had!! Congrats on the workout progress, that’s gotta feel AWESOME
I do lunges and squats (and even overhead tricep curls) the goblet way!! and…cinnamon swirl protein powder? umm I need that stat
yes you do
I’m just going to pop out of nowhere on your door step and you are going to feed me. Also we will frolick through London having a jolly good time. Haha. Hope you kicked some butt on your exams. I had food systems and science today, and eh don’t feel as confident as I did last time. Oh well.
Ok, I use to do those goblet walking lunges once/week and they use to kill me! But they worked really well and yes toned legs and core. I can’t believe you preferred them to the barbell on the back! You are amazing
Maybe if I had done them more than once/week my body would have gotten used to them!!!
I really like your pics of London! I’m moving there in a few months and I really know very little about the city
And yes… I am a shrimp lover
